Good Monday morning gang and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today marks 22 years since the 911 terror attacks and as always our hearts, thoughts, and Prayers are with the nation, those who suffered and are still suffering, as we remember the horrific events that claimed the lives of 2,977 citizens in New York, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. On days like today we often search for something uplifting.
Today our record of choice is this 1966 Avant Garde Records release, Joy Is Like The Rain by the Medical Mission Sisters. The title track was written by Sister Miriam Therese Winter in 1965 and was inspired by her experiences in a convent shortly before Vatican II. The song became a worldwide hit even winning a Grammy and an album's worth of original material was released, resulting in this album. Our copy belongs to my Beautiful Wife Lynn and is the one she used to teach kids in Sunday School at First Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven, FL. The accompanying lyric sheets are hers.
