Good morning, morning people and welcome back to the Sunday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember New York born lyricist, producer and screenwriter, Alan Alch, on this, the 27th anniversary of his passing. He was born December 15, 1921 and died in 1995, age 73. He is known primarily for co-writing the theme song to the 1965 Western series Branded and the screenplay for the 1973 film, The Daring Dobermans . Today we have him as creator, writer and producer of this industry musical, That Agency Thing. This is a agency musical that was produced for CBS Radio Spot Sales in 1963, in order to make it's audience, the employees or shareholders of a business to feel like they are part of a team. This one tells the trial and tribulations of advertising agents and how their world is turned upside down when a janitor, Guglielmo Marconi, accidently breaks the picture tube on a television and inadvertently creates radio and by extension radio advertising. The production features music composed by Bob Thompson and voice talent by the actors Byron Kane (Barney - Peter Gun) , Herschel Bernardi ( Craig Stevens - Peter Gunn), Howard Morris (Ernest T. Bass - Andy Griffith Show) , June Foray (voice actress for Rocky The Flying Squirrel) , and Paul Frees ( Boris Badenov in The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show). All the content is on Side 1. Side two has no label and no content.
