Today we celebrate the 69th Birthday of Brooklyn born guitarist Russell Javors, best known for his work with Billy Joel, from 1976 to 1989. Happy Birthday Javors ! With him in mind, we spotlight the first Billy Joel live album, Songs In The Attic. The LP was recorded June – July 1980 during Glass Houses tour and then released September 14, 1981 on the Family Productions / Columbia label. It was produced by Phil Ramone and peaked at #57 in the UK, #51 in West Germany, #38 in Sweden, #30 in New Zealand, #21 in Canada, #8 on the Billboard 200, and #3 in Japan. The album gave birth to three singles ; "Say Goodbye to Hollywood (Live)" (#35 Adult Contemporary, #27 Canada, #17 Hot 100, #11 Top Tracks) , "You're My Home (Live)" (#100 Australia) , and "She's Got a Way (Live)" (#46 in Canada, #23 on the Hot 100, #4 on the Adult Contemporary charts) .
