Today we remember Ovilla, Texas born "old-time hobo" country music star,b Boxcar Willie (real name : Lecil Travis Martin) on this, the 23rd anniversary of his passing. He died in 1999, age 67, from leukemia. We honor his legacy with this compilation album, King Of The Road (20 Great Tracks). The LP was released in 1981 on the Main Street label and produced by Jim Martin. It peaked at #54 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, #40 in Australia, and #35 in Canada.
