Dark Clouds Rain Down Tears Washing Away Swirling Colors From The Clown's Face..
Good morning Wednesday warriors and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember Manitoba, Canada born Country and Western singer songwriter and actor, Bob Nolan, best known for his work in the band, the Sons of the Pioneers, on what would have been his 114th Birthday. The defacto leader of the group, after the departure of Roy Rogers, passed away in 1980, age 72 from a heart attack. He wrote many of the group's well known songs including "Cool Water" which is is the title track to today's record of choice. The LP was released in 1960 on the RCA Victor label and produced by Neely Plumb. (What a great name !) The aforementioned "Cool Water" (#25 Hot 100, #35 Country Singles) and "Tumbling Tumbleweeds" (#13 Hot 100, #59 Country Singles) were released as singles.
