Good morning party people and welcome to the 420 2023 edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again, otherwise known as Thursday. That's right folks, today is the unofficial official day for all things centered in the world of wacky weed, Our contribution ? The third album by Los Angeles based country rock duo, Brewer & Shipley. Tarkio (sometimes referred to as Tarkio Road) was released in 1970 on Kama Sutra Records and produced by Nick Gravenites, who used to front to front The Electric Flag. The LP peaked at #41 in Canada, #31 on the Billboard 200, and #27 in Australia. Two singles were released; the duo's most successful track, "One Toke Over the Line" (#40 Australia, #10 Hot 100, #8 Cash Box, #7 New Zealand, and #5 in Canada) and "Tarkio Road" (#55 Hot 100). Another great song on the disc is "Oh Mommy", which features Jerry Garcia on steel guitar. Both Mike Brewer and Tom Shipley celebrated Birthdays this month. Mike turned 79 and Tom celebrated his 82nd trip around the sun.
