Good morning record enthusiasts and welcome back to the Friday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we wish Jacksonville, Florida native, and singer songwriter, Johnny Tillotson, a very Happy belated Birthday. He was born April 20, 1938 to parents Doris and Jack Tillotson, and as of yesterday (04/20/23) is now 85 years old. Over the course of his 7 decade career, the singer has dabbled in pop, country, and adult contemporary, was featured as the vocalist for the theme song to the Sally Field television comedy Gidget, and was was inducted into the Florida Artists Hall of Fame. Today we have him on this 1963 MGM Records record, Talk Back Trembling Lips. The LP peaked at #48 on the Billboard 200 and gave birth to three singles ; the title track, (originally a #1 for Ernest Ashworth)  "Talk Back Trembling Lips" (#7 Hot 100, #7 Cash Box, #6 Adult Contemporary), "I'm a Worried Guy" (#38 Cash Box, #37 Hot 100), and "Please Don't Go Away" (#122 Cash Box, #112 Hot 100). In addition to those great songs, Johnny also regales us withy wonderful covers of "Blue Velvet", " Danke Schoen", and "Rhythm Of The Rain". We got this LP in a bin that was gifted to us by our neighbor, Laura. Thanks Laura !
