Today we celebrate Illinois born singer, songwriter and rhythm guitarist, Robin Zander, best known for his work in Cheap Trick, as he celebrates his 69th Birthday . Happy Birthday Robin ! We get the party started by spinning their second record, In Color. In Color was released September 1977 on Epic Records and produced by Tom Werman. It peaked at #93 in Australia and #73 on the Billboard 200. "Southern Girls" and "I Want You to Want Me" were released as singles, but did not chart. The next year, after the release of Cheap Trick at Budokan, the live version reached #7 in the US, #2 in the Canada, and #1 in Japan. We picked this LP up a few years back at that weird little indoor flea market that used to be on Recker Highway in Winter Haven, as evidenced by the Barry's Jewelry sticker on the front of the album ...
