Good morning gang and welcome back to the return of Saturday's Singles, a Birthday edition. First up under our needle is "Never Tear Us Apart" by Australian rockers INXS. Their former vocalist and founding member, Michael Hutchence, was born on this day in 1960 and would have celebrated his 62nd Birthday. He died in 1997, age 37, from suicide by hanging. Hailing from their 6th studio album, Kick, "Never Tear Us Apart" was released August 8, 1988 on Atlantic Records and produced by Chris Thomas. It peaked at #28 on the US Alternative Airplay charts, #24 in the UK, #14 in Australia, #7 on the Hot 100, #5 on the Mainstream Rock charts, and #2 in Canada. It's B-side is "Different World" (7" mix).

Our second selection is "Faithfully" by American rock band Journey. Their original vocalist, Steve Perry, is celebrating his 74th Birthday today. Happy Birthday Steve ! "Faithfully" was released on Columbia Records in April of 1983 and produced by Kevin Elson and Mike Stone. The single peaked at #36 in Canada, #24 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary charts, and #12 on the Hot 100. It's B-side is the title track to the album, their 8th, Frontiers.
