Dark Clouds Rain Down Tears Washing Away Swirling Colors From The Clown's Face..
Good morning record enthusiasts and welcome back to the Friday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again . It was this week four years ago that Chicago's legendary rock station WLUP The Loop signed off air. The station went live in 1977 and the first song they played was "Morning Has Broken" by Cat Stevens. 41 years later they signed off the air with "Highway To Hell" by AC/DC. They then became the WCKL, "K - Love" a contemporary Christian format. To mark the occasion we spotlight this 1980 compilation album, Chicago Rocks Volume One - The Loop FM 98, featuring various artists. The LP was released on The Loop FM98 label and produced by John Ryan. The ten tracks feature artists of the day that sound a lot like what we listening to in those days, like Heart, the Scorpions, The Cars, Blondie, Thin Lizzy, Foreigner, etc. Our copy has a nice little coupon flyer and a previous owner's name and address label is affixed to the inside cover, so thanks Gary Taylor of Harvard, IL.
