Good morning audiophiles and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we joyfully celebrate the 75th Birthday of American folk, rock, and folk rock guitarist/vocalist Don McLean. Happy Birthday Don ! To commemorate the date we spotlight his 7th studio album, Chain Lightning. Chain Lightning was released December of 1978 on Millennium Records and produced by Larry Butler. It peaked at #28 on the Billboard 200, #19 in the UK, and #3 in Canada. Two singles, both covers, were released ; "Since I Don't Have You", originally by the Skyliners, peaked at #68 Billboard Country, #23 Hot 100, and #6 Adult Contemporary and Roy Orbison's "Crying", which reached #6 Billboard Country, #5 Hot 100, #2 Hot 100, and #1 in the UK. He also does a haunting cover of Hank Williams' "Your Cheating Heart".
