Great Monday morning gang and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we are over the moon to be able to wish Brooklyn born actor, comedian, and singer, Eddie Murphy (Edward Regan Murphy), a very Happy 62nd Birthday. Happy Birthday Eddie ! He was born in 1961 to parents Charles Edward Murphy, a transit police officer and an amateur actor and comedian, and his Mother, Lillian Murphy, a telephone operator. During the course of his 6 decade career he has released three music albums and two live standup LPs. The second of those, Eddie Murphy: Comedian is our subject of sound today. Eddie Murphy: Comedian was recorded August 17–18, 1983, at the DAR Constitution Hall, in Washington, D.C. It was then released October 24, 1983 on the Columbia label and sees Eddie, Richard Tienken and Robert Wachs as it's producers. It peaked at #94 in Australia, #35 on the Billboard 200, and #10 on the R&B charts. On it, the famous foul mouthed comedian covers topics like sexual preferences, the Ice Cream Man, women, Mothers, farthing, and the vocal styles of different singers, in only the ways he can. The full performance was aired on HBO as a special called Eddie Murphy Delirious. Our copy was purchased a couple of years ago at Treasure House Antiques & Collectibles, in Winter Haven, FL.
