STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - ELVIS PRESLEY - FUN IN ACAPULCO

Good morning Wednesday warriors and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we remember Tennessee born guitarist, and Navy veteran, Scotty Moore (Winfield Scott Moore III), best known as Elvis' studio and touring guitarist between 1954 and 1968, on this the 7th anniversary of his passing . He was born December 27, 1931 and passed away June 28, 2016, age 84. No cause of death was given. We honor his legacy by spinning the 7th soundtrack album by Elvis. Fun In Acapulco is a 1963 American musical comedy film starring Elvis Presley and Ursula Andress. It was directed by Richard Thorpe, written by Allan Weiss, produced by Hal B. Wallis and sees Elvis portray Mike Windgren, who works aboard a boat in Acapulco, Mexico and ends up getting fired which paves the way for his new career of being a lifeguard and lounge singer. The soundtrack was released in 1963 on the RCA Victor label and was produced by Joseph Lilley. It peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200 and saw the release of one single, "Bossa Nova Baby", which landed at #20 on the R&B charts, #13 in the UK, and #8 on the Hot 100. There are two bonus songs included on the disc that were not part of the film score ;  "Love Me Tonight" and "Slowly But Surely".
