Happy Birthday Garth ! During the course of his 4 decade career, Mr. Brooks has sold over 170 million albums worldwide, including 9 LPs that have achieved Diamond Certification. (10 million plus in sales). For this he has earned a world record, beating The Beatles and their former record of 6 Diamond records. Today we are spinning his 5th studio album, In Pieces. The LP was originally released August 31, 1993 on the Liberty label and produced by Allen Reynolds. It reached #91 in the Netherlands, #83 in Germany, #18 in Norway, #3 in Canada and New Zealand, #2 in the UK, and #1 on the Canadian Country charts, Ireland, the Billboard 200, and the Top Country Albums chart. It has been certified Diamond. The ten track LP spawned 5 singles ; "Ain't Going Down ('Til the Sun Comes Up)" (#13 UK, #1 Canada Country, Hot Country Songs)  "American Honky-Tonk Bar Association" (#2 Canada Country, #1 Hot Country Songs) , "Standing Outside the Fire" (#28 UK, #3 Canada Country, Hot Country Songs) , "One Night a Day" (#14 Canada Country, #7 Hot Country Songs) , "Callin' Baton Rouge" (#2 Hot Country Songs, #1 Canada Country) , and "The Red Strokes" (#49 Top Country Songs, #38 Canada Country, #13 UK) . Our copy is part of the 2019 Pearl Records Limited Edition Legacy Boxset that includes 4 remixed studio albums (No Fences, The Chase, In Pieces, and Fresh Horses) and a triple live album from Yankee Stadium. In addition to the vinyl there is also CD representation of all 7 records. This set was limited to 500,000 and was sold online and in Dollar General Stores. We got our copy from the fine folks at J.R.'s Junk Trunk.
