Dark Clouds Rain Down Tears Washing Away Swirling Colors From The Clown's Face..
Good Monday morning gang and welcome to the Columbus Day edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again . It was on this day in 1992 that Garth Brook's 4th studio album, The Chase debuted at #1 on tboth the Billboard 200 and the Top Country Albums chart. To mark the momentous occasion, we find ourselves spinning that very record. The LP was released September 14, 1992 on Liberty Records and was produced by Allen Reynolds. In addition to topping the two aforementioned charts, it also reached #90 on the European Albums Chart, #76 in Germany, #45 in New Zealand, #32 in Finland, #24 in Australia, #9 in Zimbabwe, and #6 in Canada. The Diamond certified record saw the release of four singles ; "We Shall Be Free" (#12 US and Canada Country), "Somewhere Other Than the Night" (#1 US and Canada Country), "Learning to Live Again" (#2 US, #5 Canada), and "That Summer" (#1 US and Canada Country). The cover of Little Feat's "Dixie Chicken", although not released as a single, reached #73 on the US Country charts. Our copy was part of the Legacy Box set that was released in 2019 and includes 7 vinyl records and 7 CDS. It was only available for sale on his website and at Dollar General Stores. We got ours from the fine folks at what used to be J.R.'s Junk Trunk.
