Good morning Wednesday warriors and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember California born keyboardist, composer, singer-songwriter and record producer George Duke, known for his work with Frank Zappa and quite an impressive roster of solo work, on this, the 7th anniversary of his death. He passed away in 2013, age 67, from chronic lymphocytic leukemia. With him in mind, we spotlight his eleventh studio album, Reach For It. The LP was released in 1977 on Epic Records and produced by George Duke. It reached #25 on the Billboard 200, and #4 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. It's sole single, the title track peaked at #54 on the Hot 100, and #2 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts. It has been certified Gold. Needless to say no one can blur the lines of jazz and funk with such precision, quite like George.
