Good Tuesday morning, morning people and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember John Locke. No not the British philosopher, Oxford academic and medical researcher and not even the fictional character played by Terry O'Quinn on ABC's LOST, but John Locke the keyboardist, for the psychedelic- progressive - jazz-rock band Spirit. He passed away, on this day in 2006, age 62, from cancer. To honor his legacy, we spotlight Spirit's fifth studio album, Feedback. Feedback was released March 1972 on the Epic label and produced by David Briggs. The LP peaked at #65 on the Billboard 200. "Cadillac Cowboys" was released as a single, but failed to chart. This record which saw the absence of members Jay Ferguson, Mark Andes, and Randy California, took a turn musically, and can be described as hard country rock. Our copy came from the now legendary J.R.'s Junk Trunk in Lake Alfred (you don't get those days back ...) as evidenced by that orange $2 price tag on the front cover.
