With him in mind we spotlight his sixth studio album, #7. #7 was released May 14, 1986 on the MCA label and produced by Jimmy Bowen and George Strait. It peaked at #127 on the Billboard 200 while clenching #1, on the Top Country Albums charts. "Nobody In His Right Mind Would've Left Her" (#1 in both the US and Canada) and "It Ain't Cool To Be Crazy About You" (#5 Canada, #1 US) were released as singles. The LP sees George covering Dean Dillon, Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys, and Webb Pierce.
