Today we remember Manhattan born comedian, actor, writer, stage, film, radio, and television star, Groucho Marx, on the 44th anniversary of his death. He died in 1977, age 86 after a bought with pneumonia. To honor his legacy, we spotlight this 1977 A&M double album, An Evening With Groucho. The LPs see their famous comedian perform his one man show at Carnegie Hall in New York. Introduced by Dick Cavett, and accompanied by Marvin Hamlisch on the piano and Erin Fleming on vocals, Groucho charms the audience with stories and songs of family and show business. The recording was was selected for preservation in the National Recording Registry.
