Dark Clouds Rain Down Tears Washing Away Swirling Colors From The Clown's Face..
Good Tuesday morning to you all and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we remember Georgia born trumpeter and bandleader, Harry James, on what would have been his 106th Birthday. He was born in 1916 and passed away in 1983, age 67, from cancer. With him in mind, we spotlight his album, The King James Version by Harry James & His Big Band. The LP was released in 1976 on the Sheffield Lab label and produced by Lincoln Mayorga. It was recorded at the First Presbyterian Church Of Hollywood and is a direct to disc pressing. James is a fascinating figure as well as impressive musician. He was married three times : 1) to singer Louise Tobin, 2) to pin up girl Betty Grable, 3) to Vegas showgirl Joan Boyd. He is also part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe by having his song "It's Been a Long, Long Time" appear in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Endgame, and the Loki episode For All Time. Always. The Mrs. picked up this copy for a song over at Treasures House Antiques and Collectibles in Winter Haven. The same place she has her booths.
