Good morning gang and welcome back to the Monday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we celebrate the 59th Birthday of California born singer-songwriter, bandleader, and producer, Mike Muir, best known for his bands, Suicidal Tendencies, Infectious Grooves, and Cyco Miko. Muir is considered one of the Fathers of Crossover Thrash. We get our Monday started by spinning Repo Man : Music From The Original Motion Picture. The LP was released in 1984 on the MCA label and produced by Peter McCarthy and Jonathan Wacks. It primarily features a roster of punk bands like Iggy Pop, Black Flag, The circle Jerks and Suicidal Tendencies with their trademark debut song, "Institutionalized". The film, which lauds Michael Nesmith as Executive Producer was also released in 1984 , directed by Alex Cox and stars Harry Dean Stanton and Emilio Estevez, with Tracey Walter, Olivia Barash, Sy Richardson, Vonetta McGee, Fox Harris, and Dick Rude. It centers around Estevez's character, Bud, a punk rocker who takes a job as a repo man who comes into contact with a car of alien origins. The inside of the album cover was autographed by what I'm assuming was a previous owner, Michael de Malignon and he left his radio station bumper sticker from 95YNF, Tampa's Home Of Rock N Roll. Thanks Michael !
