STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - HERMAN'S HERMITS - THE BEST OF HERMAN'S HERMITS

Good morning Wednesday warriors and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we celebrate the 76th Birthday of guitarist, singer-songwriter, composer, businessman and record producer, Keith Hopwood, best known for his work with Peter Noone in the band's Herman's Hermits and Sour Mash. Happy Birthday Keith ! With him in mind, we spotlight Herman's Hermits' first compilation album, The Best Of Herman's Hermits. The LP was released November 1965 on the MGM label and produced by Mickie Most. It peaked at #14 in Canada and #5 on the Billboard 200. It has been certified Gold in the US. Last night, when I went to return the record into the dust jacket, it would not go, so I looked inside and saw the reason why. There was a piece of a newspaper clipping in it from THIS WEEK : The National Sunday Magazine For A Better America dated November 6, 1966. I don't know that it has anything to do with the album, as one side has an article about noise and the other side has pictures of cats, but Ireturned it from whence I found it . I'll include pictures of it as well as a picture of the ticket where we were fortunate enough to see Herman's Hermits Starring Peter Noone, in October of 2016, at Lakeland's very own, Youkey Theatre. Peter said (tongue in cheek) that it had been his life's dream, to play the Youkey. It was a great show, I even missed the premiere of The Walking Dead to attend it ....
