Good morning, Sunday people and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today our record of choice is the sophomore release from Australian rock band, Hoodoo Gurus. Mars Needs Guitars ! was released July 7, 1987 on Big Time Records and was produced by the band with Charles Fisher. It peaked at #140 on the Billboard 200 and gave birth to four singles : "Bittersweet" (#10 Australia), "Like Wow – Wipeout" (#28 Australia), "Death Defying" (#43 Australia) and "Poison Pen" (did not chart). The overall sound of the album is very mid 80s. I compare it to a less danceable INXS meets The Smiths.
