Good Monday morning gang and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember Liverpool born vocalist/guitarist and producer George Harrison, on this, the 20th anniversary of his passing. He died in 2001, age 58, from lung cancer. With him in mind, we spotlight the debut record from The Fab Four, Please Please Me. Please Please Me was originally released March 22, 1963 on the Parlophone label and produced by Sir George Martin. It peaked at #4 in Germany and #1 in the UK. It's singles were "Love Me Do" (#17 UK, #8 Canada, #1 Australia, New Zealand, Hot 100, Cash Box) and the title track (#20 Germany, #16 Sweden, #10 Ireland, #5 Canada, #3 Hot 100, Cash Box, #2 New Zealand, UK, WLS -AM survey in Chicago). Discogs shows that there are 672 versions of this album. Our copy is a German pressing on the Odeon label from 1964.
