Good Tuesday morning to you all and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Over the weekend we heard the sad news, that Jay Black, lead singer of 60s pop rock band, Jay And The Americans, had passed away from pneumonia complications at the age of 82 (10/22/21) . He replaced the original vocalist, John "Jay" Traynor, in 1962. We honor his legacy with a listen to the group's 4th studio album, Blockbusters. The LP was released in 1965 on the United Artists label and was produced by Gerry Granahan and Artie Ripp. It peaked at #113 on the Billboard 200 and #73 on the Cash Box. It's singles were : "Let's Lock the Door (And Throw Away the Key)" (#11 Hot 100, #10 Cash Box, #1 Canada), "Think of the Good Times" (#57 Hot 100, #54 Cash Box, #31 Canada) and "Cara Mia" (#4 Hot 100, Cash Box, #1 Canada).
