Dark Clouds Rain Down Tears Washing Away Swirling Colors From The Clown's Face..
Good morning faithful readers and welcome back to the Thursday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we celebrate the 71st Birthday of Georgia born vocalist, Mickey Thomas, best known as the voice of Jefferson Starship and later Starship. Happy Birthday Mickey ! Jefferson Starship's 5th record, Freedom At Point Zero was released November 1, 1979, on the Grunt label and produced by Ron Nevison. The Gold certified disc peaked at #22 in the UK, #20 in Canada, and #10 in the US. Three singles were released ; "Girl With The Hungry Eyes" (#70 Cash Box, #55 Hot 100) , "Rock Music" (#29 Cash Box) and "Jane" (#21 UK, #14 Hot 100, #13 Canada, #6 Cash Box). This LP marked the debut of their new drummer Aynsley Dunbar, formerly of Journey and Frank Zappa, among others . The orange $2 sticker on our copy tells me it came from the now Legendary, J.R.'s Junk Trunk.
