Good Friday morning gang and welcome to the Good Friday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we remember and commemorate the crucifixion and death of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We couldn't think of a better way to get the weekend started than with The Original Motion Picture Sound Track Album to Jesus Christ Superstar. The film, released in 1973,  was  directed by Norman Jewison, who also co wrote the script with Melvyn Bragg. The movie stars  Ted Neeley, Carl Anderson, Yvonne Elliman, Barry Dennen, Bob Bingham, Larry Marshall, Josh Mostel, Kurt Yaghjian and Philip Toubus. It tells the story of the conflict between Christ and Judas and ends with Jesus' crucifixion on the cross. The soundtrack was released on MCA Records and features libretto by Tim Rice and the music was composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The double LP peaked at #25 in Australia and #1 in the Netherlands.
