Today we remember Texas born singer songwriter, actor, and composer, Johnny Nash, on what would have been his 82nd Birthday. He passed away October 6, 2020, age 80 from natural causes. We honor his legacy by spinning his 11th studio album, I Can See Clearly Now. The LP was released July 21, 1972 on the Epic label and produced by Nash. It peaked at #39 in the UK, #29 in Australia, and #23 on the Billboard 200 and saw three singles released ; the Bob Marley song, "Stir It Up" (#48 Australia, #13 UK, #12 Hot 100, #11 Cashbox, #7 Canada, and #6 on the US Adult Contemporary charts) , the title track, "I Can See Clearly Now" (#38 R&B, #5 UK, #3 Australia, and #1 in Canada, US Adult Contemporary, the Cashbox, and the Hot 100), "There Are More Questions Than Answers" (#9 UK) . Johnny\s backing band for the album is the Jamaican reggae group Fabulous Five Inc..
