Today we joyfully celebrate the 71st Birthday of guitarist Rich Williams, best known for his longtime work with Kansas based progressive rock band, Kansas. Happy Birthday Rich ! Monolith, their 6th studio album, was released May 1979 on the CBS label and produced the band. It peaked at #69 in Australia, #17 in Canada, and #10 in America, where it has been certified Platinum. "People Of The South Wind" (#59 Canada, #23 Hot 100) and "Reason To Be" (#52 Hot 100) were released as singles. The cover art featuring an Indian with a space helmet for a headdress was done by Bruce Wolfe.
