Today we celelbrate the 59th Birthday of Harlem born rapper, actor , and writer, Mohandas Dewese, better known by his stage name, Kool Moe Dee. Happy Birthday Dee ! To mark the occasion, we spotlight his third studio album, Knowledge Is King. The LP was released May 30, 1989 on Jive records and produced by Kool Moe Dee, Teddy Riley, LaVaba Mallison, and Pete Q. Harris. It peaked at #25 on the Hot 100 and #1 on the R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart and has been certified Gold in the US. Four singles were released ; "Let's Go" (#11 R&B), "All Night Long" (#70 R&B), "I Go to Work" (#23 Dance, #13 R&B, #5 Rap) and "They Want Money" (#91 UK, #3 R&B, #2 Rap).
