Good morning Wednesday warriors and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we remember Lester Raymond Flatt, bluegrass guitarist and mandolinist, best known for his collaborative work with Earl Scruggs in The Foggy Mountain Boys, on this the 43rd anniversary of his death. He passed away in 1979, age 64, from heart failure. We honor his legacy by spinning this 1961 Columbia Special Products release, Foggy Mountain Banjo, by Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs And The Foggy Mountain Boys. The LP sees the Boys run through 12 tracks of bluegrass, folk, country, blues, and ragtime. A truly delightful listen.
