Good morning faithful readers and welcome back to the Thursday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Tomorrow marks what would have been the 73rd Birthday of Ronnie Van Zant, the lead vocalist, primary lyricist, and founding member of the Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. He died in 1977, age 29, in the infamous plane crash that took his life, as well as his bandmates Steve and Cassie Gaines, road manager Dean Kilpatrick, pilot Walter McCreary, and co-pilot William Gray. We observe the occurrence by giving the band's first live album, One More From The Road. The live double LP was recorded in July of 1976, and then released the following September on the MCA label. It was produced by Tom Dowd and peaked at #79 in Australia, #49 in Canada, and #9 in America, where it has been certified 3X platinum. It is their only live release with the classic original lineup.
