Good morning record enthusiasts and welcome back to the Thursday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we remember New Orleans born gospel singer and actress Mahalia Jackson, on this, the 50th anniversary of her passing. She died in 1972, age 60, from heart disease. We honor her legacy, which includes 40 years in the business and over 22 million albums sold, with this 1969 Columbia release, The Power And The Glory. On it Mahalia is backed by Percy Faith and His Orchestra.
