Good Monday morning gang and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we celebrate the 69th Birthday of English rock guitarist, Rick Fenn, best known for his work with progressive pop rock band, 10cc. Happy Birthday Rick ! With him in mind, we spotlight the first of two collaborative albums he did with Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason, under the moniker, Mason + Fenn. Profiles was released July 29, 1985 on the label and produced by Nick Mason and Rick Fenn. The LP peaked at #154 on the Billboard 200 and it's sole single, "Lie For A Lie" reached #21 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay charts. The record is very synth pop and atmospheric and almost entirely instrumental, except for two tracks; the aforementioned "Lie For A Lie", which features Pink Floyd vocalist/guitarist David Gilmour with singer Maggie Reilly and a side 2 track, "Israel" with UFO keyboardist Danny Peyronel on vocals.
