STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - MIAMI SOUND MACHINE - EYES OF INNOCENCE

Good morning record enthusiasts and welcome back to the Thursday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we are thrilled to celebrate the 65th Birthday of  Cuban-American singer, actress, and businesswoman, Gloria Estefan, (Gloria María Milagrosa Fajardo García), best known for her work with the  Miami Sound Machine. Happy Birthday Gloria ! To get her party started, we shine a light on the group's 8th studio album and first English language album, Eyes of Innocence. The LP was released September 1984 on Epic Records and produced by Emilio Estefan Jr., who is a founding member and husband to Gloria. The record did not chart in the UK or US, where it has been certified Gold, but some of the singles did. "Dr. Beat" peaked at #23 in France, #18 in Finland, #17 on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play, #16 in Ireland, #15 in New Zealand, #11 in Australia and South Africa, #7 in West Germany, #6 in the Netherlands and the UK, #5 in Switzerland, and #3 in Belgium and the Dutch Top 40. "Prisoner of Love" reached #98 in the UK, while "I Need a Man" and the Philippines only release, "I Need Your Love" did not chart. Our copy is a promotional copy with the Gold foil on the back cover.
