Dark Clouds Rain Down Tears Washing Away Swirling Colors From The Clown's Face..
Good Tuesday morning to you all and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we remember English actor, comedian and writer, Graham Chapman, best known as one of the six performers in the irreverent comedy troupe, Monty Python, on this, the 33rd anniversary of his death. He was born January 8, 1941 and passed away in 1989, age 48, from cancer. He is severely missed. With him in mind, we spotlight the Pythons' 11th and final studio album, Monty Python's Contractual Obligation Album. The LP was released October 6, 1980 on the Arista label and produced by Eric Idle and Andre Jacquemin . It peaked at #13 in the UK and #3 in Australia, where it has been certified Platinum. In 1981 it was nominated for a Grammy for Best Comedy Album but lost out to P.D.Q. Bach: Oedipus Tex and Other Choral Calamities.
