Good morning Wednesday warriors and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we remember New York native, comedian and singer songwriter, Jud Strunk on the 41st anniversary if his death. He was born June 11, 1936 and passed away in 1981, age 45, after suffering a heart attack while taking off in his 1941 Fairchild M62-A. He and his passenger, Dick Ayotte, were killed instantly when the plane fell 300ft to the ground. With those two in mind, we spotlight Jud's third studio album, Daisy A Day. The LP was released in 1973 on the MGM label and produced by Mike Curb and Don Costa. It peaked at #138 on the Billboard 200, #25 in Australia, and #18 on the Top Country Albums chart. Two singles were issued, the title track, "Daisy A Day" (#33 Top Country Singles, #18 Canada Country, #14 Hot 100, #5 Canada Adult Contemporary, #4 US Adult Contemporary, #3 Canada Singles chart) and "Next Door Neighbor's Kid" (#85 Canada Country, #50 Canada Adult Contemporary, #22 US Adult Contemporary).  "Daisy A Day", Jud's most well known and most successful song is about a boy and girl who grow up an old together. Everyday the boy gives his girl a daisy to signify their bond. After she dies, the boy, now grown into and old man leaves a daisy on his Wife's gravesite, daily.
