STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - MORT STEVENS AND HIS ORCHESTRA - ORIGINAL HAWAII FIVE - O TV SOUND TRACK

Good morning faithful readers and welcome back to the Thursday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Tomorrow marks the 31st anniversary of the death of New Jersey native and film score composer, Mort Stevens (Morton Aaron Suckno). He was born January 30, 1929 and passed away in 1991, age 62, from  pancreatic cancer. He is best known for writing the theme music for the television show Hawaii Five - O and that is our subject of sound today. The Original Hawaii Five - O TV Soundtrack was released on Capital Records in 1969 and produced by Mel Taylor. If the album or song charted, I can find no evidence, but The Ventures did cover the title track in 1969 and took tune to #3 on the Hot 100.
