Dark Clouds Rain Down Tears Washing Away Swirling Colors From The Clown's Face..
Good morning Wednesday warriors and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Yesterday brought us the sad news that both Dan McCafferty, vocalist for the Scottish rock band Nazareth and founding member and guitarist, Jeff Cook, from country group Alabama, had passed away. Our Hearts, Thoughts, and Prayers are with those bands, their Families, and fans. Today we find ourselves spinning the 9th studio album by Alabama, 40-Hour Week. The LP was released January 1985 on the RCA Nashville and produced by Harold Shedd with Alabama. The record reached #69 in Canada, #28 on the Billboard 200, and #1 on the Top Country Albums chart. three #1 singles were released from the double Platinum disc ; "There's No Way" (#3 Canada Country, #1 Hot Country Songs), "Can't Keep a Good Man Down" (#1 Canada Country, #1 Hot Country Songs), and the title track, "40 Hour Week (For a Livin')" (#1 Canada Country, #1 Hot Country Songs). Jeff Cook was born on August 27, 1949 in Fort Payne, Alabama. He was a founding member of the group, alongside his cousins, Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry, and contributed vocals, lead guitar, keyboard, and fiddle to the group. He passed away November 7, 2022, age 73. In 2017 he revealed he had Parkinson's disease.
