Good morning Wednesday warriors and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember English bass player and founding member of Mott The Hoople, Pete Overend Watts, on what would have been his 73rd Birthday. He passed away in 2017, age 69, from throat cancer. Mott The Hoople released 7 studio albums before abbreviating their name to Mott, and then recorded two albums. The first of those two records, Drive On, is our subject of focus today. Drive On was released September 1975 on the CBS/Columbia labels and produced by Dale "Buffin" Griffin and Pete "Overend" Watts. It peaked at #160 on the Billboard 200 and #35 in the UK. "Monte Carlo" and "By Tonight" were released as singles in Europe only , but failed to chart.
