Good Monday morning gang and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember Idaho born vocalist, Norma Zimmer, on this, the 10th anniversary of her passing. She died in 2011, age 87, of natural causes. She is perhaps best known as the "Champagne Lady" on The Lawrence Welk Show, a roll she had for 22 years. In addition to her there, in the 70s she traveled with Billy Graham Crusade and on the Hour of Power, performed as a soloist for the Nixon Whitehouse and released Christian music albums on the Word label. One of those albums, Reach Out And Touch, is our subject of focus today. The LP was released in 1971 on the aforementioned Word Records. It features Norma on vocals with Buryl Red as conductor/arranger.
