Last week brought us the sad news that Brooklyn born pianist and pops conductor, Peter Nero ( May 22, 1934 – July 6, 2023) had passed away at age 89. The two time Grammy Award winner got his start at age 17 playing playing "Rhapsody in Blue" on television. By 1957 he released his debut album under his given name, Bernie Nerow. His storied 7 decade career produced 67 albums including this one. Summer Of '42 was released in 1972 on Columbia Records and was produced by Paul Leka and Wally Gold. The title track reached #21 on the pop charts and #6 on the Adult Contemporary charts.
