Dark Clouds Rain Down Tears Washing Away Swirling Colors From The Clown's Face..
Good Tuesday morning to you all and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember Kentucky born singer songwriter, Mary Travers, on what would have been her 85th Birthday. She passed away in 2009, age 72, from complications of bone marrow surgery. To honor her legacy, we spotlight the sixth studio album, from folk rock trio, Peter, Paul, And Mary. The Peter, Paul, And Mary Album, commonly referred to simply as Album, was released in 1966 on the Warner Brothers label and produced by Albert Grossman and Milton Okun. It peaked at #22 on the Billboard 200 . "The Other Side of This Life" (#100 Hot 100, #33 Adult Contemporary) and "Hurry Sundown" (#123 Hot 100, #37 Adult Contemporary) were released as singles. Our copy is an unofficial Taiwanese release (read bootleg) from 1967 on Cathay Records. It is on red vinyl and has both English and Asian writing on it. We got this years ago at the now Legendary J.R.'s Junk Trunk. It sounds pretty good considering what it is.
