Today we celebrate the 75th Birthday of singer, songwriter, pianist , founder and lead singer of the rock band Procol Harum, Gary Brooker. Happy Birthday Gary ! With him on our minds, we find ourselves spinning the first live album, by the band. Procol Harum Live: In Concert with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra was recorded November 1971 and released in April of 1972 on the Chrysalis and A&M labels. The Chris Thomas produced disc peaked at #48 in the UK, #7 in Canada, and #5 on the Billboard 200. It has been certified Gold in the US.
