STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - SAMMY HAGAR - I NEVER SAID GOODBYE

Good morning record enthusiasts and welcome back to the Thursday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we are thrilled to celebrate the 75th Birthday of California native, singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Sammy Hagar, best known for his work with Montrose, Van Halen, and Chickenfoot, as well as his solo work. Happy Birthday Sammy ! To get things started, we find ourselves spinning his 9th solo album, I Never Said Goodbye. The LP was released June 23, 1987 on the Geffen label and produced by  Sammy Hagar, Edward Van Halen, and David Thoener. It was released at a time Hagar when was already in Van Halen as a contractual album in order to free him from that contract. It peaked at #86 in the  UK and #14 on the Billboard 200. Four singles were released from the 10 track album ; "Returning Home" (#20 Mainstream Rock) , "Give to Live" (#78 UK, #23 Hot 100, #1 Mainstream Rock) , "Eagles Fly" (#82 Hot 100, #22 Mainstream Rock) , and  "Boy's Night Out" (#15 Mainstream Rock) . Eddie Van Halen plays bass on the album, guitar on the single, "Eagle Fly", provides back up vocals and serves as co-producer.
