Dark Clouds Rain Down Tears Washing Away Swirling Colors From The Clown's Face..
Good morning faithful readers and welcome back to the Friday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again . It was during this week in 2015 (09/22/15) that a federal judge ruled that Warner/Chappell Music’s claim on the copyright to the song, "Happy Birthday" was invalid and therefore the song was in the public domain. This meant that filmmakers and television producers would no longer have to pay fees (reportedly up to six figures in one case) for use of the song or use "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow" as an alternate. We couldn't think of a better way to mark the occasion, than spotlighting this album, Happy Birthday, by popular Canadian children's music group, Sharon, Lois & Bram. The LP was released in 1988 on Elephant Records and the A&M label and was produced by Paul Mills and Chad Irschick. On it are 33 songs and poems, with a fold out lyric sheet that has a big poster for the game Pin The Tale On The Donkey.
