Good morning record enthusiasts and welcome back to the Sunday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember California born percussionist and bandleader, with a flair for introducing odd sounds and noises into his music, Spike Jones, on the 57th anniversary of his passing. He died in 1965, age 53, from emphysema. We honor his legacy by spinning this 1960 RCA Victor compilation album, Thank You, Music Lovers. The LP features spoofs of popular songs in ways only Jones could create. The front and back covers are filled with the artwork of page favorite, Jack Davis, and the liner notes were penned by writer Frank Jacobs, known for his extensive work in MAD Magazine.
