Good morning faithful readers and welcome back to the Thursday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. today we remember English bassist Greg Ridley, known as a founding member of both Spooky Tooth and Humble Pie, on this, the 17th anniversary of his death. He passed away in 2003, age 56, of pneumonia and resulting complications. To honor his legacy, we spotlight the second Spooky Tooth LP, Spooky Two. Spooky Two was released March 1969 on the A&M label and produced by Jimmy Miller. The record reached #44 on the Billboard 200, making it their highest charting effort. One single was released, "Feelin' Bad" which came in at #132 on the Bubbling Under charts.
Now the interesting thing about our copy is it does not have an album cover. While that in itself may not be interesting, the fact that I have two copies of Spooky Tooth's 4th album The Last Puff album covers, that don't have the records. I keep this one in one of The Last Puff covers. (It's an iconic cover with two Indians smoking the peace pipe, which I'll include in the pictures section.) So, if you or someone you know has a naked The Last Puff record that you would like to see reunited with it's cover, call me. Well don't call me, I usually have my hands full, so message me. Who knows, you might even have the record that belongs in one of these sleeves.
