Good morning Wednesday warriors and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. It was on this very day in 1968, from the ashes of Buffalo Springfield, arose a new country rock band called Pogo, who made their live debut at the Troubadour, West Hollywood. Pogo comic strip creator, Walt Kelly found out and threatened the band with a lawsuit and in order to avoid the litigation, the group changed their name to Poco. The rest is how they say, history. Poco's second and self titled LP was released May 6, 1970 on the Epic label and produced by founding member and guitarist, Jim Messina. It peaked at #68 in America, #34 in Australia, and #14 in Canada. The album's sole single, "You Better Think Twice" reached #72 on the Hot 100 and #61 in Canada.
