Good morning Friday people and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we celebrate the 75th Birthday of English vocalist and multi instrumentalist, Steve Winwood. Happy Birthday Steve ! He was born May 12, 1948 and over his 6 decade career has worked with the of the Spencer Davis Group, Traffic and Blind Faith, as well as his own successful solo career. Today we are spinning his self titled debut record. The LP was released in June 1977 on the Island label and produced by Winwood, Chris Blackwell, and Mark Miller Mundy. The record reached #78 in Australia, #22 on the Billboard 200, and #12 in the UK. Two singles were issued ; "Hold On" and "Time Is Running Out". Neither charted. Two of Steve's former Traffic Bandmates appear on the album. They are Jim Capaldi and Rebop Kwaku Baah.
